Install SD to a New Station

Large Tutorial
  1. Map the network drive to the server

find out what the server name is by opening a computer that is successfully running sd, going to about service desk <ctrl-shift-a> and look for server is xx.xx.xx.xx(SERVER NAME) remember SERVER NAME, which is the server you need to map to

Open your file explorer <windows-e> then right click This PC, My Computer, or Computer from the list on the left. Select Map Network Drive. Now you need to choose the SERVER NAME from earlier, it will likely be inside the SD folder. This is confusing. I'm sorry.

  2. Run the component installer
  3. Make a shortcut to ServDesk.exe (or if you don't see a .exe look for "application" under file type")
  4. Run Service Desk, it will make lots of complaints, read the messages carefully and follow the instructions
